All the way i was working in California for 3 years and due to a sudden good oppurtunity, I need to travel to Portland Oregon for taking up new assignment. Well, as everybody cautioned me earlier, the weather was very gloomy and dull. The day light in summer seems to be a bit extended till 10.00 pm. The people around here were not so aggressive on thier movement and everything seems to be in relaxed fashion. From a fast moving San Jose life to a snail phase life speed at Portland was a bit a different experience altogether. The english communications, accent and listening speed are also comparitively slow here. Immigrants crowd is just 5 5 to 10 5 at maximum. Everywhere white crowd and we have been odd figures avereywhere we go.
Here people concentrate more on green salad food and you can find almost 97% of them eat lunch out. Packing the Food concept does not seems to be a practise here since due to climatic conditions, everybody prefers fresh hot food at lunch.
Every place around here is a scenic one. You cannot miss any frame out of your site, since almost the same locations seems to be in different colors, shades at different time of the day.
No much tall buildings but there are good unique shaped buidings in downtown. The entire city is well planned with enough space and in a relaxed manner. Since we moved in around the independence day, there was good welcome to us with a great fireworks show on July 4.
